Surfrider and others are gearing up to protect the dunes
Surfrider SLO has a new volunteer to help protect Oso Flaco (Mike Schaefer) and has joined the Dunes Alliance. The Dunes Alliance includes Environmental Center of San Luis Obispo (ECOSLO), the Santa Lucia chapter of the Sierra Club, San Luis Obispo Coastkeeper & Environment in the Public Interest (EPI-Center), Friends of Wild Cherry Canyon, Morro Coast Audubon Society, Oceano Beach Community Association, the American Woodland Conservancy, and Center for Biological Diversity.
Dunes Alliance goals are to provide an alternate vision to California State Parks’ Public Works Plan. Our vision is to provide improved environmental protection and general public access to the Oceano Dunes area.
