The Blue Water Task Force is now sampling at St. Ann's Sewers!
Collecting water quality data at this site has been a goal of our BWTF. The break at this popular surf spot in Shell Beach is at the outlet for a major storm drain, so there is a lot of potential for people in the water to be exposed to contaminated surface runoff. To take this photo of the break I stood with my back at the opening of the 5' diameter storm drain, so whatever comes down from the streets parking lots and roofs above here enterers the water right at the break. Thank you to Danielle Marie Brian for volunteering to sample this site. Results from St. Ann's / Sewers will be posted along with all of our other water quality testing results at http://www.surfrider.org/blue-water-task-force/chapter/34.
